About Conference:

•    The Vice President opens the 83rd All India Presiding Officers Conference in Jaipur. The 83rd All India Conference of Presiding Officers was opened in Jaipur by Vice President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar. In his inaugural address, he referred to India as the "Mother of Democracy" and emphasized that ensuring the welfare of the people and upholding their mandate are key components of democracy. 
 
•    Shri Dhankhar emphasized that dialogue, discussion, and debates are essential for the effective operation of the Parliament and legislatures. He urged the elected officials to draw inspiration from the Constituent Assembly, which underwent 11 Sessions over almost three years without a single incident of disruption or disturbance. He urged the ecology to change so that these legislative shrines can become centers of excellence for decorum and the highest standards of parliamentary conduct.
 
•    Shri Dhankhar advised the representatives to be mindful of the hopes and aspirations of the people as he expressed concern about the rising number of interruptions in Parliament and legislatures. The vice president hoped that the meeting will discuss immediate solutions to these problems.
 
•    The Vice President emphasized the importance of good relations between all branches of government, as set forth in our constitution, and claimed that democracy is sustained and flourishes when the legislative, judicial, and executive branches work cooperatively to fulfil the aspirations of the populace.
 
•    Claiming that the predominance of the will of the people is "the basis" of any "basic structure" in a democratic society. He further emphasized how our constitution guarantees legislative sovereignty of parliament is inviolable and will writ large as provided by our constitution.
 
•    Shri Dhankhar emphasized the historic significance of India taking the helm of the G-20 and asked the presiding officers to concentrate on their constructive contributions during this momentous occasion. He further stated that in keeping with the "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" civilizational ethos, we have given the world “One Earth, One Family, One Future" New Mantra for sustainable development and inclusive prosperity. He stressed the urgent need for cooperation in achieving India's legitimate place in the international world.
 
•    In attendance were the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla, the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Dr. Harivansh, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot, the Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Dr. CP Joshi, as well as the presiding officers of the state legislatures.

•    It is both a delight and an honor to open the 83rd All India Presiding Officers' Conference in the Pink City.
•    August offices are held by presiding officers. In this position, we are not political players.
 
•    Optimizing the elected representatives' contribution to the welfare of the people in the legislature and in Parliament is of primary concern.
 
•    Executive, legislative, and senior political officials must take care to keep their political positions separate from high constitutional offices.
 
•    India is fortunate to be leading the G20 at this crucial moment. It is "a chance to show the world India's competence."
 
•    India has the opportunity to reveal itself to the world and show its power with such a huge nation, the mother of democracy, such diversity, and such potential. This new development will be significant.
 
•    This conference is being convened in light of India's growing international profile. We are currently building the solid foundations for the India of 2047, when our country will celebrate 100 years of freedom.
 
•    We must put politics aside, be proud to be Indians, and be proud of our past accomplishments.
 
•    These successes are a result of the combined efforts and brilliance of our people, as well as governmental initiatives and affirmative action programs.
 
•    India is advancing more rapidly than ever. The entire globe has praised our handling of Covid. Some of the most recent accomplishments inspire us to be proud.
 
•    India overtook the United Kingdom in October 2022 to take over as the world's fifth-largest economy. We'll have the third-largest global economy by the end of the decade.
 
•    The most recent statistics available indicate that India passed Japan in auto sales in 2022, climbing to third position for the first time.
 
•    Another achievement to be proud of is that India has surpassed China in terms of the number of new unicorn startups—startups valued at $1 billion or more.
 
•    Our strong human capital, skilled labor force, and affirmative governance initiatives, which were based on the maxim "more governance, less government," all contributed to the trajectory of progress.
 
•    In the post-pandemic world, India is now a preferred location for investment, innovation, and opportunity.
 
•    After Covid, the nation shown tenacity and Aatma Nirbharta. The fact that we gave 230 crore vaccination doses away mostly for free has startled the world.
 
•    Digital copies of our vaccination records are accessible. Not even the most developed countries have attained this level of success.
 
•    India delivered roughly 16.29 crore doses of vaccinations to 96 countries. 1.43 crore of them were gifts.
 
•    We have demonstrated that we are a trustworthy partner in the welfare and development of the entire world through our Vaccine-Maitri mission.
 
•    It is with this spirit of global cooperation that India as the largest democracy, inherits the leadership of G 20.
 
•    We have offered the New Mantra "One Earth, One Family, One Future" for sustainable development and inclusive prosperity of the globe, which is inspired by our age-old ideal, Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam. 
 
•    He said -I was simply reiterating Dr. BR Ambedkar's warning when I made this assertion: "Unless we, in Parliament, realize our responsibilities and shoulder the task of looking after the welfare and good of the people...I have not the slightest doubt in my mind that this Parliament will be treated by public outside with utter contempt." 
 
•    We must pay close attention to these prophetic worries and warnings of our nation's founding fathers as we work on our Constitution.
 
•    In this Amrit Kaal, this Conference is a chance to evaluate, analyze, and calibrate our performance in relation to the issues raised by our founding fathers and the expectations of our electorate, as well as to lay out our trip trajectory for the centennial of India's independence in 2047.
 
•    The conference's discussions and conclusions will be a turning point in ensuring that public confidence in parliament and legislatures is strengthened and increased. I hope that this conference is a success.
