Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana And Other Schemes
Pradhan Mantri Garib kalyan Anna yojana (PM-GKAY) is a part of Atmanirbhar Bharat for the supply of food grains for free to the poorest of the poor section and the migrants.
Phase- 1 of the program is working from April to June 2020 and phase -2 from july to November 2020 respectively.
The third phase of the program operates from May to June 2021.
Fourth phase of the program in July-November 2021 and phase V from December 2021 till March 2022.
The PMGKAY plan for Phase VI from April to September 2022 will include an additional food subsidy estimated at Rs. 80,000 Crore.
Value
More than 81.35 cr. people will receive 5 kg of wheat/rice every month and 1 kg of whole chana free for every family per month. Wheat has been allotted to 6 states/UTs, - Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Delhi and Gujarat, while rice has been allotted to remaining states/UTs. This is in addition to the monthly allowance under the National Food Security Act 2013 (NFSA).
Eligibility for Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana:
• Families who are below the poverty line - Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority household categories (PHH) will be eligible for the program.
• State Governments/UT’s must identify PHH according to their own criteria. States/UTs will recognize AAY families as per the criteria prescribed by the Central Government:
• Families of widows or terminally ill person or disabled persons or those aged 60 years or older or single women or single men without family or social support or livelihood.
• All Primitive tribal households.
• Landless agricultural laborers, marginal farmers, rural artisans/craftsmen such as potters, tanners, weavers, blacksmiths, slum dwellers carpenters, and on a daily earning people in informal areas like porters, coolies, rickshaw pullers, hand cart pullers, fruits and flower sellers, snake charmers, rag pickers, cobblers, the poor (destitute) and other similar categories in rural and urban areas.
• All eligible households below the poverty line (HIV positive).

What Is Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan?
'Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan' is a massive rural public service program of the Government of India to empower and provide livelihood to returnee migrant workers and rural citizens.
Abhiyaan was launched on June 20, 2020 from Village - Telihar, Block- Beldaur of Khagaria District in Bihar.
Mission:
The 125-days Abhiyaan initiative, has a resource envelope of Rs. 50,000 Crore is:
Provide livelihood opportunities for returning migrants and rural citizens affected similarly.
Rural areas to have public infrastructure - Anganwadis, Panchayat Bhawans, Community Health (sanitary) Complex, etc.
Preparing the ground for improving long-term livelihood opportunities.
Coverage
A total of 116 districts with more than 25,000 returning migrant workers in six states namely Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha have been selected for the campaign which includes 27 aspirational districts. It is estimated that these districts cover around 2/3 of these migrant workers.
Plan duration
Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (GKRA) will be operational for a period of 125 days, starting June 20, 2020.
Beneficiaries
Migrant workers (returnee) and rural residents, similarly affected in 6 states namely Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Focus on 25 tasks:
The Abhiyaan includes intensive and targeted implementation of 25 projects aimed at providing services,employments and creating infrastructure in rural areas of the 116 districts of the Abhiyaan with a resource envelope of Rs 50,000 crore.

What Is Gram Ujala Program (Scheme)?
GRAM UJALA is a program organized by the Ministry of power for making the availability and accessibility of LEDs at affordable price in rural india.
This program is unique and innovative based on carbon credits (finance) and is valid until March 31, 2022.
Value
The LEDs will be available for just Rs 10 per household, in exchange of old incandescent lamps (working condition).
Each household will receive up to 5 LEDs.
These rural families will also have meters installed in their homes to account for usage.
Impact on climate change in India - If all 300 million light bulbs in India are replaced, the total energy savings will be 40,743 million kWh / year, avoiding the peak demand of 22,743 MW / year and CO2 reduction of 37 million tonnes per year.
Features of the GRAM UJALA PROGRAM:
Under this program, 7-watt and 12-watt LED bulbs with a 3-year warranty will be offered to rural consumers against the submission of incandescent bulbs that work.
Areas to be covered: In the first phase of the programme, 10 million LED bulbs will be distributed across villages of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana.
In addition, carbon credits documentation will be sent to UN-accredited validators for inclusion in the Shine program of activities.
Carbon credits are to be supported as part of the Shine programs of activities from the consent or the verification under the Voluntary carbon action, depending on customers need.
Carbon credit buyers is also handled through an open process based on the initial discussion with the market. The balance of costs and margins in LED costs will be achieved through carbon credits obtained.
Implementing Agency - Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a PSU under the Department of Energy (Ministry of Power).
The GRAM UJALA program will have a significant impact on India's climate change action energy savings of 2025 million KWh/year and CO2 reductions of 1.65 million tonnes CO2/year. The program will provide better lighting, at an affordable price of INR 10/bulb. This will lead to better living conditions, financial security, more economic activity, thus security for rural citizens can help in realizing a sustainable future.
